BEAST Fitness System
From bib. source
Our methods are condensed into the BEAST system, an acronym for the five key aspects needed to optimize fitness and health. […] The BEAST system is composed of the following:
- Bicycling (or other aerobic exercise)
- Eating a balanced diet that supports cell function
- Avoiding toxins that impair our cells and mitochondria
- Stopping self-destructive and addictive behavior
- Training with resistance (weights)
Another way of summarizing this system or protocol for supporting physical fitness in a way that is more generalized is that it recommends (LeMond 2015, 3):
- Beneficial nutrition for cell function (this could be called eucytological nutrition or cytoteleological nutrition)
- Resistance training (i.e., physical training using weights)
- Aerobic exercise (i.e., high-oxygen use physical exercise)
- Toxin avoidance (as this can impair or damage cells or mitochondria)
- Surrendering addictions (ceasing to engage in compulsive behaviors)
In other words, the recommended system of protocols here is BRATS.
